“And there was a cloud that overshadowed them: and a voice came out of the cloud, saying, This is my beloved Son: hear him.”

‭‭Mark‬ ‭9:7‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Jesus Christ our Lord was made of the seed of David according to the flesh; and declared to be the Son of God with power, according to the spirit of holiness, by the resurrection from the dead. He received from God the Father honour and glory, when there came such a voice to Him from the excellent glory, ‘This is my beloved Son, in Whom I am well pleased.’ Therefore we ought to give the more earnest heed to the things which we have heard, lest at any time we should let them slip.

  1. Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God.

He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love.

In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him.

Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the *propitiation for our sins.

Beloved, if God so loved us, we ought also to love one another.

    1 John 4:7‭-‬11 KJV

*propitiation – the atoning sacrifice for the sins of man

And we have seen and do testify that the Father sent the Son to be the Saviour of the world.

    1 John 4:14 KJV

Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.

And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure.

    1 John 3:2‭-‬3 KJV

Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: because as he is, so are we in this world.

There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love.

We love him, because he first loved us.

    1 John 4:17‭-‬19 KJV
